My favorite photographer

Kurt Ross                                                                     Allyssa Carney
For my report I picked Kurt Ross to do it on. I picked Kurt because I looked at his photos and saw that he took a lot of pictures of nature. I felt like I connected with his photos because I love to take pictures of nature. I really liked his picture of nature, I thought they were beautiful. He takes pictures of skies, mountains, fields, and trees. Living in Wisconsin I love taking pictures of trees, in our forests; fields, normally with cows or horses in them; skies, sitting out in our boat; and mountains, around here hills in the fields. His pictures aren’t unique as some photographers, but yet I like his photos. He travels a lot for his pictures. He has traveled to places like, Niagara Falls, New York state, Rocky Mountains, and Wyoming. I think he is very talented. I don’t think that he edits his pictures and if he does only a little bit. One thing that he has said was “Any path through life that did not involve art was impossible.” I think that is true because if I didn’t have a camera to take pictures with I wouldn’t be able to express myself as well. He started out with normal art things that we think of like drawing and painting and then discovered photography. He does photography to express his creativity. Kurt published his photos through Masterworks. Masterworks became a business in 1984. His pictures are put on posters, notecards, postcards, and unlimited printing editions. He has won numerous awards for his artistic photos. He has some of his work in an art gallery in Buffalo, New York and has had his photos in the Sierra Club Calendars. He has done and had so many accomplishments in his life and I hope I have as many as him.

Warmth

Warmth has many different meanings and is such a broad subject. My idea of warmth when we were assigned this was animals. My animals give me a  warm feeling so for warmth I took pictures of my animals.

This horse isn't really mine, but its my horses brother. He is just like my horse because I take care of him so he is special and gives me that warm feeling. I kind of caught him a a great time when he was licking his lips.

This is my dog Jasmine. She is so goofy and just gives me that warm feeling also. She was going and searching through the woods. it also shows warmth in this picture because there is no snow on the ground.

This IS my horse and I get that warm feeling when ever I am around him.

and this is him again.

Best of...

Our assignment for the week was to post our best pictures of our animal morph, our ice pictures, and one of our choice.

My favorite ice picture is this one. I really like this one because of the bubbles coming out of the ice and the sun reflecting of the bubbles and the ice.
Shutter: 1/105
Aperture: f/5.2
Focal Length: 18.6 mm
ISO Speed: 50

This was my animal morph picture, I really like this picture, but I had to choose it whether I liked it or not because I didn't have any other animal morphs to pick from.

Shutter: 1/60
Aperture: f/3.4
Focal Length: 9 mm
ISO Speed: 100

I really like this picture because because the logs are not right in the middle. I converted it to black and white because it looked better because there wasn't hardly any color on it.

Aperture: f/5.6

My family and our days off!!!

Last week Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday my family, my friend Anna and I took the day off school/work and went to the dells. It was a BLAST, in my opinion way better then school.
This is my little cousin Evan. He just had a blast playing in the water park. This was his first time at a water-park where he could walk and go down slides by himself.
 Evan again
 Going through the tunnel
My sister and niece Madilyn tubing down the lazy river.
McKenna being the monkey she always is.
My other sister Kahli, my cousin Clover, and niece McKenna coming off a water slide
Anna and Madi going down a slide together
Clover trying to be a little kid going down the baby slides.
Clover and her nephew Evan.
Kahli, McKenna, and Clover just getting off a slide.
Kahli going down the lazy river making one of her nice faces.
Lilly having the time of her life going down a side.
And again.
Lilly tubing down the lazy river.
Madilyn going down the slide. She was to chicken to do the big slides.

Ice

For this weekends assignment we were supposed to take pictures of ice. I did take picture of ice, but not the ice i wanted to shoot. I wanted to make it down to the river but we got soooo busy with it being my sisters last week home that I didn't get down there.
This picture is in my driveway. I really like this picture because of the interesting shape of the ice. I converted this picture to black and white. The primary subject is the ice and the secondary subject the grass and the leaves.
Shutter: 1/149
Aperture: f/5.2
Focal Length: 18.6 mm
ISO Speed: 50

I like this picture because you can not really tell what it is. i do wish that you could see the ice closer up, but then if it was closer the picture wouldn't be as interesting so this is the only way it looks good.
The primary subject is the ice and the secondary is the rocks and that side.
Shutter: 1/60
Aperture: f/5.2
Focal length: 18.6 mm
ISO Speed: 100

This picture is of ice next to the road and the water coming out of it as it was melting was creating bubbles. I converted this picture to black and white because it made it look better and adjusted the rotation of it to make it look cooler. The primary subject is the ice and the secondary is the bubbles and the leaf.
Shutter: 1/110
Aperture: f/5.2
Focal Length: 18.6 mm
ISO Speed: 50

This picture is the same one as the one above it just at a different angle and closer up.
Shutter: 1/105
Aperture: f/5.2
Focal Length: 18.6 mm
ISO Speed: 50
This picture is ice in my front yard. I like it because the ice is not just one big patch and then a big patch of grass. It is different places and splits it up so there is not a lot of one thing in one spot.

Aperture: f/4.2

Animal Morph

For our assignment last weekend we were supposed to take pictures of ourselves and an animal so we could do an animal morph. The animal morph was due on monday, but I decided to skip school on monday and tuesday to go to the dells with my family.
This is my eyes and mouth and my cousin's dog Mya. I think this picture turned out really well, but it is scary and I decided I would never want a dog that really looked like this.
